The credibility of a traceability pilot depends on who is at the table and how the platform works. FMF has brought together over 89 governments and 50 multilateral organisations, alongside stakeholders across the minerals value chain. In January 2026 coverage, participation for the conference was expected from more than 100 countries, with around 50 international organizations also cited, including the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Council on Mining and Metals, UNIDO, and the International Organization for Standardization. The reforms prioritise tenure security, efficiency, transparency, a fast permitting process, a business-friendly environment, and sustainability, with clear guidelines on licensing and environmental considerations. They also provide access to comprehensive geological data. The Barometer is supported by the Future Minerals Framework, developed since 2023 with input from more than 130 experts from more than 42 countries.
